About us

Voie du Phare

A calm glow
born from silence

The story of why we began, what we were searching for, and what we found.

The world had become too loud.
Not just outside — but inside our home.

This is where Voie du Phare began.
Not in a studio. Not with a business plan.
In a quiet room, with someone I love, and a problem I needed to solve.

— Bakhrom, founder

My wife was anxious.
And I am a chemist.

Over the past few years, something shifted in the world — and it settled into our home as a quiet, persistent tension. My wife felt it most. Anxiety had become a constant companion: in the evenings, before sleep, in the ordinary moments that should have felt safe.

As a chemist, I think in formulas. I look at a problem and ask: what is the mechanism, and what can change it? So I started looking at what surrounded us. The candles we burned — synthetic fragrances that filled the room with a heaviness that gave headaches by morning. The massage oils we tried — thick, greasy, leaving stains on the sheets, a film on the skin, never quite right.

Nothing was designed for what we actually needed: something that worked with the body, not against it. Something that made the room feel like a refuge, not a showroom.

So I made it myself.

The massage candles came first. The chemistry was the easy part — finding the exact balance of coconut wax, botanical oils, and shea butter that would melt at skin temperature without leaving heaviness, without staining linen, without the greasy residue that makes massage feel like a chore. I tested batch after batch until the formula disappeared into skin the way it should: warmly, cleanly, without a trace except the softness left behind.

The scented candles were a different question. I didn't want fragrance that announced itself from across the room. I wanted something that simply changed the atmosphere — quietly, the way light changes a space without you noticing exactly when it happened. An enveloping presence. Not a performance.

Every oil was chosen for a reason. Every formula was certified. Nothing was added for effect. Everything was added for purpose.

"The biggest problem was not the formula. It was the doubt. There is so much on the market. Who are we to add something more?"

The hardest part
was beginning.

The market is full. Every shelf has candles. Every brand promises something. For a long time, that kept us still — the fear of being one more voice in a noise we were trying to escape.

But then something shifted. We stopped asking whether the world needed another candle brand. We started asking a different question: does this exist, in the way we know it should? A massage candle with certified cold-pressed oils, no mineral wax, no artificial heaviness — made by someone who understands the chemistry of skin. A scented candle that fills the room without filling your head. We looked. We couldn't find it.

So we moved slowly. No grand launch. No investor deck. Just formulas, tests, family around the kitchen table, and the gradual clarity that comes when you stop trying to be everything and start trying to be exactly one thing, done right.

Voie du Phare

The way of the lighthouse.

We didn't choose the name strategically. It chose us. In the French maritime tradition, the lighthouse doesn't shout — it simply shines. A calm, constant light in the fog. You find your way not because it guides you loudly, but because it is reliably there.

That is what we wanted these candles to be. Not a statement. Not a luxury object to display. A quiet presence that makes the room feel different — warmer, stiller, more like home.

This is also why the jars are simple. We chose plain frosted glass — white and black, nothing decorative. We believe with Zaboltsky: a vessel is not the point. The light inside is.

"What is beauty, and why do people
worship it so?
Is it a vessel in which there is emptiness,
or a fire flickering in the vessel?"
Nikolai Zabolotsky · On Beauty

01
Chemistry with purpose

Every formula is built from certified ingredients. Nothing is added for appearance. Coconut wax melts at skin temperature because that is what the ritual requires — not because it looks beautiful.

02
Calm over spectacle

We chose plain jars deliberately. We believe the experience should live in the scent, the warmth, the texture on skin — not in an object sitting on a shelf. The vessel should disappear. The feeling should remain.

03
Transparency always

Every ingredient on our pages comes with its Certificate of Analysis, extraction method, and the reason we chose it. You deserve to know what you are bringing into your home and onto your skin.

04
Made for the body

The massage collection was designed by a chemist for skin. No mineral wax. No synthetic heaviness. No stains on linen. Only what absorbs cleanly, leaves softness, and disappears without a trace — except the warmth.

We are still a small family. Still making every decision slowly, carefully, with our hands close to the process. We don't know how large this will grow.

We only know what we set out to do: make something that earns its place in a quiet room.
